“Sending American tax dollars to Ukraine is bad enough – our men & women being sent to die over this conflict is unthinkable,” said Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), speaking on the House Floor in favor of his amendment before it was adopted by voice vote.
Rep. Crane’s amendment, which will now be included in the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, prohibits American troops from being sent to fight on the ground in Ukraine.
“It’s well past time for the United States to disentangle itself from the misguided war effort in Ukraine and start promoting a peaceful resolution to the conflict.”
To date, the United States has shipped more than 100 billion American tax dollars to Ukraine—a country not known for its strict commitment to anti-corruption measures. The amendment, which comes as the Biden Administration continues to further recklessly encourage the war in Ukraine, would prevent any escalation of the conflict that involves the deployment of U.S. Armed Forces.
