WASHINGTON, DC – Recently, Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ) announced Skanda “Jai” McCabe as the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District.
Jai is currently a 10th Grader at Coconino High School in Flagstaff, AZ, and he is our winner for the second year in a row. He built his first gaming computer when he was 11 years old and is passionate about coding, programming, and hardware development. He plans on utilizing his gifts to become a computer engineer.
“Congratulations to Jai McCabe for winning the Congressional App Challenge for the second year in a row,” said Rep. Crane. “His skills and work ethic are commendable, and I look forward to seeing him in Washington, D.C. soon!”
Jai’s app, Galago, adapts the keyboard to the hand to increase typing speed and comfort, almost entirely eliminating pain as a result.
The Congressional App Challenge is a prestigious prize in student computer science. Participation in the challenge has grown exponentially since the program’s inception.
Most students who win this challenge are just learning how to code a fully functioning app from start to finish.
