Prescott, AZ —Each spring, the U.S. House of Representatives sponsors the Congressional Art Competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district.
Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) recently presented the winning student artists from across Arizona’s Second Congressional District with scholarship awards in recognition of their hard work and talent.
All submitted artwork was displayed at the Phippen Museum in Prescott, where local judges visited to view and evaluate each piece.
This year’s 1st Place winner was Nicholas Osborn, a student from Mingus Union High School, for his piece “Looking Forward.” Nicholas will be flown to Washington, DC for an awards banquet and have his award-winning artwork displayed for a year in the U.S. Capitol. |
